As part of our Digital Enrichment provision, we run regular after school clubs across Key Stage 2 for our Digital Leaders. During these sessions, the children will enhance and build upon their key computing skills that have been covered during their class sessions. Through the clubs, the leaders have developed their coding skills using Scratch, Micro:bits and Crumble devices.
They have also developed their key digital literacy skills using a range of products from companies that we have forged strong links with over the years such as Purple Mash, TTS and LBQ. Our digital leaders are then utilised and used in classroom capacities as “experts” to help class teachers and their peers.
Representatives of our Year 6 Digital Leaders have the opportunity to travel to London each year to take part in the annual Bett Education Show. They are able to test a range of products and hardware at the show with a view to use back in school. Over previous years, they have been able to present to delegates as well as become test pupils for new products.
