Erasmus+ European Projects
On the 13th and 14th November 2017 we welcomed 33 visitors from around Europe as we commenced our new Erasmus projects.
Visitors from: Cyprus, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Germany and Hungary all joined us and were given a very warm welcome by our staff, pupils and the local community.
They enjoyed observing lessons in our school and exploring the North East of England.
Plans and preparations were made for visits to each other other countries involved over the next two years.
Our bell ringers greeting our visitors by playing the EU National Anthem.
From Monday 2nd - Friday 6th November Mrs Davis and Mr Bailey visited Escola Secundaria de Casquilhos School (Barreiro, near Lisbon, Portugal) for a transnational meeting with colleagues from Portugal, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Romania, Lithuania and Poland.
Over the next two years, schools from the eight countries will be involved in an Environmental Awareness project.
Staff and pupils from the eight countries will visit each other to formulate a variety of environmental activities. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the pupils and staff of Lanchester EP and we look forward to welcoming our Eurorpean visitors in January 2016.
Our 'All About Us' eBook was created by our pupils for our partner European schools:
From Monday 25th - Friday 29th January 2016 twenty one teachers from around Europe visited us at Lanchester EP to create a curriculum that could be delivered throughout Europe in relation to the United Nation's 'Global Goals'.
Whilst visiting England our European visitors also had the opportunity to experience school life at Lanchester and to see the sights and sound of North East England.
The next Erasmus visit will be in March, when two lucky Lanchester pupils will have the opportunity to accompany staff on a week long visit to Sweden.
Watch our pupils perform 'Ode to Joy' (the European Anthem) for our visitors.
