Christian Ethos

Our Christian ethos is based upon the five school values that underpin everything at Lanchester EP Primary School:

  • Love
  • Trust
  • Hope
  • Justice
  • Compassion

We have  strong links with all churches in Lanchester. Regular services are held half termly in All Saints Parish Church, celebrating eucharists as well as important dates in the Christian calendar. Reverend Rupert Kalus also holds a weekly worship within our school. We also hold services in our school that members of the Parish are more than welcome to attend. Full details of upcoming services can be found on the School Calendar.

All Saints is a beautiful medieval parish church which was founded in 1147 and has been extended in two stages. The 1283 extension was ordered by Bishop Bek who made the church a Collegiate with a Dean and seven Canons. Stone from the nearby Roman fort of Longovicium was used to build the church, notably five pillars of the north arcade which are entire. There is much of interest within the church itself, e.g. 13th century stained glass, medieval misericords and a Roman altar found nearby in 1893.
