The school council plays a very important role in our school community, trying to includeas many things as possible for all the pupils and staff to enjoy. This begins with the weekly meetings on a Wednesday lunchtime.

What happens during the meetings?
Our discussions are packed with ideas that are suggested by each class and then the class representatives raise these at the meeting. The aim is to make our school even better for every endividual. Every Wednesday morning after class worship, each class has the opportunity to discuss the minutes of the previous school council meeting as well as share thoughts and ideas for future discussions.
Has the school council been effective?
Yes! during the past few years the school council have helped to improve the school environment and grounds, raised money for charities and worth while causes, suggested fun activities during school time and also been involved in the interview process for new staff.
Some of our successes:
Charity events have raised money for good causes such as The Charley Bear Cancer Appeal; The Blue Peter Appeals; Action Aid where we have sponsored a child in India; The Macmillan Cancer Appeal; Downes Syndrome Society.
In school, we have held talent shows and other fun events; helped to decide on the new menus for school lunches; created a fruit stall where we sell fruit during a braktime; suggested new improvements to the playing areas such as the trim trail, goals and play equipment boxes for each class; we have helped create an organic garden  which is run by the Eco-Rangers group in school.
We also have a link with the local Parish Council and other local groups in and around the village.

These are just a few of the successes that we have had.
